The way I see it, it has more to do with the guy who wrote the artical then anything else... Rare find, a cafe racer??? If the guy called it like it is, it's a buget build rat bike, I doubt anyone would have an issue.
I mean jeeze, the big mechanical rebuild was putting new rings in it... No point trashing the builder imo.

No, John...
I'm one of the last for PC and no, it wasn't the owner that ask for opinions... pretty much my point. You must admit that some of the posts were pretty harsh. Lets say the guy was in his teens and wanted something out of the ordinary, in hope of creating something astonishing at a later date when he could afford it.
Then he visits this board and sees some the the posts calling his efforts a POS. That could turn him off Triples forever. There is a difference between constructive criticism and ragging out someone's effort. I've seen paint combos on some members bikes that are proudly posted that scare me... they aren't ragged on... opinions offered, yes... but not ragged on.
We don't (didn't) know the circumstances associated with this creation and ought to offer the guy a little slack because of those unknowns. Lets say it was your 14yr old son who put this together. Would you be proud of his effort or tell him it was a POS?

Agree with this, guess I was a little harsh!

Background info always helps.... :problem: I'm sure the comments would have been different. But going on the info given, as in a page article from a custom shop, the bike came up real short on being a great custom cafe. I personally would have made it a point to say it was a budget build, that would have changed the dynamic for sure.

And if it was my kid, I would have been a micro manager with his build..... you know me.......
