aylor pretty much hit it. although the name is stupid, an honest purpose built "cafe" (and I dont mean one built to simply "look" cool  ) is one of the coolest bikes on the planet.

What could possibly be uncool about taking a bike and making it handle, stop and GO better than when it left the factory?

I look at the S1 posted on page1 as something a broke high school kid would build... and if that were the case here, I would totally respect that, because he probably did the best with what he had, and there are more than likely bigger and better things to come.

but the fact that this bike is "featured" on a custom bike shop website as if it were something special? when it is nothing more than a few cans of flatblack Rustoleum and yet another stupid fiberglass tail section is a bit silly.

I still think it has a good "stance".....and black always looks good on a bike. 8-)

I'd rather see a cafe than a chop. However, variety all adds to the spice of life and it would be boring if everyone liked and built the same thing - then there would be nothing to moan about and criticise, which is a big hobby for the human race.

Yeah, but we have money and freedom - It's an absolute P.O.S. (IMHO). (Edit: For what it claims to be.)

not defending it, but that guy(twinline) is on s2w. mind you , i dont particuarily care for that bike, but that shop was asked to do that bike up, as a rider, for a customer, with a tiny customer budget. The owner did not want to spring for chambers, he just wanted a rider.
and at least the shop got the biek ont he road for the customer w/in budget. .02

There seems to be a lot of harsh criticism of some of the creations that some folks come up with. While I may not care for some of these, we should keep in mind that they belong to the owners and they have the right to do what they choose to them. Some may be young, have little money to play with, and just want to try out some of their creative talents..... it is a learning experience. Many times a first, or second, effort isn't what was intended. Most of us have been there with some kind of project... bike, bookcase, tile, etc. I can applaud the effort expended even though I may not particularly like the result. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

When someone misrepresents something that is another story.

Maybe I'm too old fashioned but I think to build a cafe you need an older Triumph or BSA, the original idea was to make them faster and faster looking.. aren't K triples fast and good looking enough.. but Tony, you wanted the opinion of experts, I am not so this is my 1 eurocent :eh: but I think MrAxl is a very wise man

That's the most important thing to take away from this.

Just to be clear, it was not my intent to put that bike or its builder down in any way. Merely stating that the whole cafe racer thing is getting old. Just like tattoos & piercings IMO. Don't get me started .....

I've seen some of Twinline's work and it is top notch.

Well, Tony did ask our opinions, not the owner. :eh: So, do we just follow the new PC and tell people what they want to hear? Do we not state an opinion if it is not positive?
