Way back when, we used a 17/45 combo on an early H1 - I was always surprised at the top speed ability of that particular bike, including 2-up, hills and headwinds. plenty of HP at 8500rpm!

H1: found 16/42 best allround for street, drag and roadracing.
Long distance travel 17/42 but this does make it a dog in 5th at 65-70 mph.

Cody: that tube will certainly make the swingarm much stiffer!
X up front required and additional tube to support middle of the bridge.

Going a different route. This sucker is far too heavy. Still would be curious to hear your thoughts on the stainless to mild welding combination in this particular application as far as stress cracking goes?
