The S2 was a beauty! Finding new fork legs and getting that old coating out of the tank would be my biggest concerns on that bike. But the price seemed good.

I did like the KH400 and it’s ‘weathered’ look too. It was mechanically sound and hadn’t been messed with much. I thought it was also a decent deal.

There’s more to come...wait until you see some of the H2’s.

So, this was a Mach IV motors auction. The same Mach IV as sells parts on Ebay for ridiculous asking prices, and often dishonest part descriptions? Were these bikes they hadn't gotten around to chopping up yet?

Auctions are Actions just as e-bay is e-bay both are the ultimate in point of time fair market value...... whats it worth, put it up and find out.

If people are willing to pay and the seller stays in business that is a free market economy anything less is isn't.

DGA...this is the same Mach IV motors as is on eBay. As I understand, he has one or two of these auctions a year. Apparently he goes around the US buying anything vintage, I’m assuming very cheap to make a profit. He has a big building and about 5 or 6 shipping containers outside that he fill with bikes. When he is out of space, he has an auction. I don’t know what his criteria is for which ones to part out is, but since it’s a business, he probably parts out the ones he thinks he can make more money on than in auction as a complete bike.

Lot 215 - (year unknown) Suzuki T500, turns, rare, running w/ title. My thoughts: this ended up being, in my opinion, the deal of the day. This is a beautiful bike. Either it’s been restored or someone took immaculate care of this bike. I didn’t hear it run, but judging by the new fuel lines, fresh gas in the tank, and overall condition, I believe it was a runner. 15,687 miles. Hammer price: $2400

Lot 235 - 1972 H2, turns, 1st year H2, w/ title. My thoughts: A very restorable H2. It’s missing some parts, and the chambers that were on it were pretty beat up. A high miles bike - 39,754. With miles like that, it could be worse. Tank was nice inside and no dents. Definitely restorable, but would need to be completely gone thru. Hammer price: $5600

Lot 145 - 1975 Suzuki RE5, turns, amazing condition, w/ title. My thoughts: this is a bucket list ‘want’ bike for me due to its technological significance and rotary goodness! But a re5 guy once told me to spend your money on one that you know runs good, because if it doesn’t, good luck getting parts. With that in mind, I held back and did not bid. I think this bike is a ‘76, not a ‘75. It did turn over but felt like it had zero compression. (Maybe that’s normal???) It has been sitting for a while and looks like someone may have started tinkering with the carb, which could turn into a nightmare. Tank had some light rust inside, but could definitely be salvaged with some work. 7,890 miles. I wanted it, but I’ll hold out for one I can hear run, even if it costs more. Hammer price: $2900

if you can kick it over then its got compression problems , you can almost stand on kick start before it moves !!!!, good you didnt buy it .parts arnt that hard to get in US but knowledge about carby is ,
i own 2 of them great bike when running well , urs Al in Aus

That’s kinda what I was thinking too, just thinking about how a rotary engine works. I thought to myself ‘I shouldn’t be able to turn this over by hand’ has I’m turning it over by hand. I didn’t know if there is a decompression lever/valve for starting, but I didn’t see one. I’ll just keep holding out for one I can hear run.

Lot 240 - 1973 H2, stuck, stock paint w/ BOS. My thoughts: saying this bike was rough may be giving it too much credit! It was seized up hard. Nothing moved or moved easily on this bike. And sure, it was factory paint...what was left of it. I only could tell it was a factory purple color from a little bit of paint left on the side of one of the side covers. The tank is most likely junk, as it was rotted on the inside and out. The tail section was rusted through. The pipes were rough. 16,635 miles indicated. There wasn’t much good on this bike, even as a parts bike. And despite this, it sold for $5500! I guess that front fairing is worth a lot of money! Hammer price: $5500

Lot 254 - 1975 H1, turns, original stock w/ title. My thoughts: this is a tough one. The bike had obviously sat outside for a number of years. It did not turn over for me with the kickstarter and I couldn’t get it into gear to try with the rear wheel. But it was mostly intact. I don’t remember the pipes being too bad on this bike. And it hadn’t looked like it was ever really messed with. Just abandoned outside at some point. It’s a factory blue late H1, which I think is a great looking bike when restored. It would need a full nut and bolt restoration, but with a title and for the price it sold for compared to the 750’s, and their rising value, IMHO this may not be all that bad. Hammer price: $2300
(I missed what the A7 also pictured sold for, but I believe it was around what this bike sold for)
