I'm planning to make this ride the last weekend of September (28th, 29th):

I contacted Bob of the CJMC yesterday regarding meet time on Saturday...his response:

"Because there is free entrance to the park that day we want to meet at 9 and leave by 9:15am. We hope to avoid long lines at the Park entrance".

Their meeting place hotel http://www.hoteljeffery.com/ is understandably full that weekend, and I was going to just drive down early Saturday morning for the Yosemite ride, but then after mulling it around some more, I settled on booking a room at this old Miners Motel in Jamestown which is about 20 miles up the road from Coulterville (as of this posting, there was still a few more rooms available).

So what'daya guys think? Anyone up for what sounds like a GREAT ride?!

When I had my shop in Merced, I used to stop work about 6 PM, and take a ride to either Coulterville, or Hornitos, and back. Great way to unwind from a day stuck inside my shop working on bikes.

Along some parts of CA-4, beautiful open land, some farm land, some ranches with cows...so peaceful in appearance.

Arrived at the Old Miner's Motel in Jamestown, about 26 miles or so from meeting place in Coulterville. Didn't realize until meeting up with others, that owner of VFR was to attend our ride as well! :o

Saturday morning, met up with CJMC members and others, all new to me, after circling around for just a few minutes, found a great parking space just around the corner from their hotel. From here, we headed off to Yosemite National Park.

At the end of our route, at Tuolomne Meadows we stopped for a sandwich picnic break.
Image
On our way back, we parked alongside a beautiful lake (sorry, again not sure which one...terrible huh?).
Image
Someone noticed a couple of climbers on the mountain across from the lake.
Image
And of course, the lake!

And back at the hotel.

Hmmm...

Great fun - I wish others from this board could have made it as the weather and the mountain roads were perfect for riding, the views outstanding, and everyone who attended was great to meet, talk to, and ride with. Looking forward to next year's meet!
