That's the one! I've noticed it needs a lot more advance than the instructions say, I'm currently trying to figure out the best amount. It's somewhere between 7mm and 5mm before TDC.

Arne, what is the 'advance curve' on that system? What I mean as curve, is the amount of timing change from idle to when it locks out and doesn't advance further.

I rode there many times on my hot rod H2, and that was before the place had so many squids that caused massive problems doing idiotic things, but, then, riding a full on road race bike at mach-schnell through there was idiotic in itself. There weren't many sheriff or police personnel there back then, either, unlike there is today. I came up from the San Jose end, being the service manager for Yamaha of San Jose.

You guys had a great ride - right in my back yard.

I bet you got a lot of attention up at Alice's.

Pizza in Pescadero?

I'll be up and running for the next ride - count me in.

Apparently you can program the advance curve with the Zeeltronic kit that's $$$. The built in curve may be this:

However I am unsure b/c the ignition needs to be set to substantially more advance than what the manual says. I am a little brain dead measuring the timing with a strobe light - I can't see the firing point from outside so don't have a reference to correctly mark the stator plate. When I strobe I see a firing point but don't know where it is in relation to TDC.
