I actually thought 'Goblin' or 'Green Goblin' would be appropriate since the colors look a lot like the bad guy from spider man the colors were actually chosen for a couple of reasons: When the frame still looked like a suzuki katana it had purple on the plastics and the wheels. My oldest always called it 'the purple vroom vroom'. So, naturally I had to make some part of it purple. The black and white stripes look a little like the first street bike I ever owned, a purple 1973 Honda CB350 twin. The green, of course, is a tribute to the kawasaki engine. |

Progress pic: I got the swing arm and forks mounted and the wiring harness laid in Attachment: IMG_20160530_195125_136.jpg Here's a view from the top Attachment: IMG_20160530_122329_217.jpg I also noticed that I had a lot of sand on the gage face of my tach so I tore the gages apart. I decided to clean everything up and learned a very important lesson: the numbers on your odometer and trip-meter wheels do not like carb cleaner! Note the .1 mile wheel on the odometer.... Yeah, the black letters on a white dial are always a problem, even ordinary detergent will remove the black! (AMHIK!!) |

After many attempts I finally got my gages back together and painted. Repainting the numbers was challenging. It turned out okay though Attachment: IMG_20160610_222040_059.jpg Attachment: IMG_20160610_222046_794.jpg Attachment: IMG_20160610_222023_335.jpg

Final panels are buffed and mounted. License plate bracket is mounted too. I painted my switch gear but I ran out of time to grab pics. I'm waiting on some parts for my rear suspension to get zinc plated, that's why I haven't put the tire or the shock spring back on, just in case anyone was wondering Attachment: IMG_20160612_142703_781.jpg Attachment: IMG_20160612_142719_884.jpg Attachment: IMG_20160612_142751_802.jpg

They didn't come out as clean as I had hoped... cutting those little numbers out 5 times over took it's toll on my patience! I also didn't notice the super glue holding the green and amber lights in place had decided to smear until after I crimped the gages back together and painted them Oh well, just leaves something to look forward to fixing in the future |
