Tapered headers will make better power, assuming all angles etc are in order.
Thanks for confirming that! Looks like most "fattier" pipes
have taperd header while the "skinnies" dont..

Lars:

Last cones on my higgspeeds are approximately 230 mm long, and diameters are about 90mm on bellys. Don't know what angle you got, but you figure out.

For my jollymoto, same is 200mm and 105mm

Jorgen

Thanks! You didn't mention what diameter they have at the other end (before stinger) so i used same as mine (28mm.)
With those numbers i got about 7,5 degree for the higgs and almost 11 for jolly.. That makes higgs streetpipes and jolly racepipes, as
you already found out.. Maybe we should try this:

I might try it? But i guess my pipes are gonna end up even uglyer then.. :banghead

If you are running a 28mm id stinger you should definatley try a 25.5 id before mucking about with the extender baffle cone.. especially if you have skinny gutted 90mm pipes.

No, 28mm. is od. at end of baffle cone, stinger id. is 24. And belly is 115mm. witch i think is to much?
Very good for high hp but not so great (without variable ex.hight) for a wide powerband..?

I'm under the impression that the bigger the belly the better for mid range, I really don't think there is a down side other than finding a place to put them under the bike.

I have used 125mm belly plenty of times on sidecars where one can fit more exhausts , they work great. If your stinger is 24, then make it 25.4ID. About 1995 I got 70rwh from a 250 single using a 135mm belly and only 11000 max rpm, so the larger belly did not seem to hold us back :-). Good luck . :)

Yea thought so to, and they are a huge improvement over fbg. Bottom end pulls great, maybe it's still just my midrange jetting? Need to try Lectrons...

Thanks, i need it!! :banghead Yep, my sled (triple 700) have bender big bore pipes with 135mm. bellys and pulls like a bear from 4-9000rpm's! But that's a diff. animal with
casereed, powervalves and CVT.. I'll guess your sidecar engine's have some kind of variable ex.valve to? Maybe i'll just swap in my sled engine in the H2..
But then i need a sidecar to fit pipes.. 8-)

No variable anything on my H2 outfit, well maybe just the rider. Just porting etc as per usual. Have used 125mm belly on H1 engines as well, heaps more midrange and top end.
