I wanted to rubber mount my 73 H1D , but being of a cheap nature i wanted to use the suzi silent blocks.
but the later cases must have more meat in that area .
so i was thinking of turning down the rubber bush part of the block to say 0.7"dia c/bore.

The inside dia of the sharpie ring is 0.7 dia i could maybe go out to .75 but i think that would be the limit or the case would be weak at the thin points.
so what do you think.

Am really surprised when I see some of us want rubber mounts H1 cases. The vib aren't that's bad specially compare to H2 and as writes John, later cases is the way to go and if you do this don't forget to rubber mounts the rear exhausts brackets?

thanks for the help .i may leave well enough alone.
its just that i had the cases apart and if it was a simple mod now would be the time to do it.
undecided, i will come back to it ,plenty of other stuff to be getting on with.

True enough, the vibs from a H2 are in a league of there own!! :lol: But as far as the H1, I disagree... The H1 is not that bad at lower revs but at high revs, there is a definite difference between solid mount and rubber mount.
My rubber mounted H1 has only a hair more vibration then a 400 and definitely worth the effort to find late model cases if you like to ride allot and flog constantly. :mrgreen:

If rubber mounted cases can't be found, I'd consider mounting the rubbers on the frame... I believe Leo has done this mod with favourable results. ;)

I had an H1D and agree that the vibrations were only at WFO and that was more a function of trying to use the mirrors.
I'd leave it alone.
Agreed that an H2 (at least my 72) could be used to vibrate trapped air bubbles when pouring concrete slabs.

When traveling long distance, like 3-4 fuel loads, hands will grow numm which is not good.
When racing, there is limited feel of that the front tire does, which means it is hard to find the limits.
None of my bikes non-rubbermounted engines.
The outsidep-mount GT-rubber-mount can be found on the MAXRL-site.

Once a person experiences how much nicer these bikes are to ride with rubbermounts, its tough to go back....

it tops the list of all the "mods" Ive done.
