Post subject:  Wider rims on H2?

I lost this thread on the old forum so I am doing a survey on is anyone has done wider rims on their H2. Not interested in 17 wheels, too modern and too squat.

Stock size rims on H2 are:
3.25x19
4.00x18

Has anyone done these sizes?
3.5x18
4.25x18

Thanks
KWW

Those are not the stock rim sizes on an H2, they are the stock tire sizes. The stock rim sizes are 2.15x18 and 1.85x19. You can go to larger tires to some extent, but you start getting too much tread wrap. Also, a tire made for a wider rim isn't always wider on a narrow rim, since the rim squeezes the tire narrower than it was designed to be. Some guys have gone to an 18" front rim.

I have a 3.00x18 Lester rear wheel on my H2, with a 130/80-18 tire and it fits in the swing arm and barely clears the brake stay. My front tire on the Lester 2.15x19 rim is a 100/90-19 and clears the fender and its bracket OK. Both these tire sizes are in the recommended range for the rim widths according to Bridgestone.

I forgot, I am so use to modern bike now!
Those rim sizes on the original stock H2 are equivalent to modern MX size.

I know... it is funny. My MT-07 has a 3.5-17 front and a 5.5-17 rear.

Some modern bikes that use wire rims are using
3.5x18 front
4.25x18 rear
It is possible to have an offset sprocket and may be going with a custom swingarm, and forks anyway.
