Today I finally got around to lacing and truing the new rear wheel for my H1E. The spokes fitted perfectly. Nipples tightened to minimum 50 pound inch (5.6 Nm). It's a highly modified KZ750 hub. Boy, that looks nice, PK. And aren't Excel rims great? The wheel I built with one was easy to true because the weld was done well, with no bump or bend. How much force did you need when installing the new flange, after you heated the flange and cooled the hub? |

No force needed. 0.004" (0.1mm) interference when cold. Slipped on with clearance when heated (and cooled). |

Mounted the tire yesterday. I decided to go tubeless so I sealed the spoke nipples using 3M 4412N sealing tape (60mm wide). Checked it today and it holds pressure. Then I test mounted the wheel in the "H2Ken swing arm" to check clearance. I'm going to mount the wheel as far forward as possible because this swing arm is longer than the H1E swing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() . |

Super nice!!!! Did you use Buchanan's for the rim? I've used them and have both Excel on my 78 CR250 and Sun on my 79 CR125. They do good work! That hub looks sick btw! In a good way ![]() |

Yes, Buchanan's. Excel rims have safety beads which makes it safe to run tubeless. |

My preference was Woody's Wheelworks for my Excel rim. The lady who answered the phone at Buchanan's was not particularly interested in hearing what I was looking for, and wanted me to go to their web site and quit wasting her time. |
