Today I sorted the pipe hangers and finalized rearsets. I had originally welded the rear hangers on these pipes (Protopipe Roadrace pipes) for a late model H1 frame, but obviously never ended up using them.
So I had to cut all of that crap off and figure out new mounts. Amazing how much time it takes just to figure out how to (neatly) hang a muffler from a motorcycle.....let alone 3 of them..

**I still hadn't cut the old rear hanger off of the center pipe in these pics, so just pretend it isn't there**

Heres all 3 views with the pipes FINALLY mounted.

Rearsets!!! This was fun! Used a hodgepodge parts including a pair of Raaske passenger peg mounts, NSR250 levers and footpegs and clutch lever adjustment nut/lockwasher.

The levers and pegs were parts I had left over from my NSR250 MC18. I had 2 sets that were both "crashed". Well, I used all of the good parts from each set! The brake lever is actually a "flipped" shift lever, which worked out pretty sweet as I used the ball-joint and a cut-off end from one of the linkage rods (smashed flat on the end to fit in the factory S3 rear brake cable knuckle).
I welded a cable-stay to the frame and hogged out a clutch cable adjustment nut/locknut. So now there are 3 different points you can adjust the rear brake cable. Oh, I also used a HEAVY DUTY spring between the brake shoes in the rear drum as this is the only spring that returns the pedal to the "up" position. Just wanted to be sure there wasn't any brake drag.
The shift lever will be directly bolted to the shiftshaft. No linkage, no slop..... Probably use another KV75 lever as that worked really well on the KH750.

I had the rearsets and mounts powdercoated last year, but obviously still have to re-zinc, paint, powdercoat everything else...so it all kind of looks like crap. Just picture it Finished... I know I am.

Andrew.. what did you use for a sidestand?..and how did you mount it? Any pics?

I'm thinking of tapping one of your front lower adapter mounts and just bolting it to that... Maybe a jamb nut on the back side if I'm able to stuff one in there?

My side stand is from a ZX750.
I ended up just bolting mine with an extender plate.

 Ive stolen so many ideas from people on here its ridiculous... Pay'in it forward!

and thanks Andrew, that is pretty much what I was thinking of doing, but straight to the mount without the adapter bracket.

I just won another ZX kicker off of ebay so we'll see how long it is when it gets here.

Part of the reason for the transition plate is the bolt spacing on the stand was too wide for the lower engine mount bracket. Also I needed the extra length due to longer rear shocks.

Originally, that plate was welded to the mount... Unfortunately the welder I took it to missed the class on the importance of weld penetration. It busted off! :x I'm pretty sure I could have done that all on my own... lol

very cool! i did a rear brake like that on the yellow mono shocked rd.. and i stole the idea from suzuki. makes rearsets super easy to do!

suggestion: get an M8 nut, cut a slot in it and use for your rear brake adjuster nut. the thumb-wheel will come loose over time.
