anybody need an update? I know I could sure use one....

So another month has past and I haven't done a darn thing to the hybrid. I think a couple of "changes" are in the works as far as powerplant is concerned. Ive got the bone stock H1 engine ready to go (literally, it just needs the top end installed and its ready), but due to recent events, I am contemplating moving the 75HP Cobra engine over from the '70 H1 and then fitting the '70 with the engine out of the H2.
"work" is also picking up, so unless I get a wild hair, the project might get mothballed until the birds start flying south. Typical.

the bike was going to be mostly silver, gray, and black..with as little "chrome" as possible...mostly just a few nuts, fasteners.
but now with the gold bling that has snuck in on the forks, Im rethinking again...
And if the 75HP RR engine gets moved over, I want to use Denco Roadrace chambers....unfortunatley, they are chrome and in super condition so it would be kind of a shame to paint/black them out.
decisions, decisions.

The pipes would be a perfect project for the Duplicolor black chrome paint. It's really just black tinted clear, but would look cool.....

while I TOTALLY agree that black chrome would be the ticket (Demshock and I have talked about it a few times), I wouldn't trust rattlecan duplicrap to TRULY adhere to chrome on a substrate that sees such dramatic expansion and contraction (heat/cool). Add in fuel spills, oil, etc and I doubt it would last very long...

The only success Ive had in painting chrome is by first sandblasting the surface to give it "teeth".

Well, It's made for engine parts and I use it sucessfully. If it didn't work just take it off. If it does, then cool!

I love the blacked out look on the wheels!
I'm wondering if you have any info on the brace? Looks the biz!
Also, are your forks titanium nitrided? I have a buddy that would be interested in knowing where you got it done.
Tia

thx Andrew!

yeah, the forks were ti-ni'd. It was sort of a one-off deal. Trading favors so to speak. 8-) 8-)
Its the first set of fork tubes they've done from what I understand, and it was a bit of a "test" to see how it would work over the original hard chrome. Turned out beyond perfect if thats possible...lol

I kind of figured that as soon as people saw these, there would be interest, so I can find out if it is possible to do more?, and what the cost will be?

Fork brace is Tarozzi from Jim at fast from the past. KH500/KZ650 forks have their advantages  (weight is NOT one of them  )

and in case you didn't notice, I whipped up a triangulated caliper adapter bracket..... which is completely your fault.
