Did you use any sort of internal baffling to counteract oil slosh Cody?

Think of how much weight you would have saved by using premix  Tank, oil,oil pump, crankslingers etc etc :) :)

I did think of it! A "normal" ride for me usually consists of at least one, and somtimes up to 3 fuel stops. To carry oil is a pain
That said... I did tell Dave to leave the Crank slingers off..
You know... Juuuuuust in case.

inner fender?

yes sir

here's the "mock-up" fender...which is actually the other half of the stock H1 inner-fender I used on the KH750 7 years ago

problem is that this half was really beat up, so I ended up cutting up another nice one for the bike. I actually have an NOS one, and am soooooo tempted to use it  I'll probably try some of that Krylon Fusion paint first. Ive read that it stands up very well on MX plastics as long as you dont spill fuel on it.

no Pete, no baffle in the tank itself. The filler bung is about 1 1/2" ID, but the actually hole cut into the tank is about 1", so it will act as a "slosh baffle" at least keeping the oil from trying to come out the top. I wont be jumping this bike often so shouldn't be a problemo.

one strut, like the KR250.

its from a "hybrid" cross-polinated balsa/rubber tree, so not only is it light weight, it has surprisingly good compression and rebound damping.

The Krylon fusion actualy holds up really well, and should suit you fine for that application. The biggest thing I found with it when I had panels on my dirtbike painted, was rub areas, like where my mx boots would always touch the paint would rub off easily. Branches and brush would also leave marks and if hit hard enough by it would take the paint off. This is pretty much what you would expect in those conditions anyways.

I have also used it to paint faded black plastic wheel flares and other pieces on my old pathfinder. After 2 years they still looked suprisingly good. I never had any adhesion problems with the paint, it always stuck very well.

just wondered how heavy my bike was, oil in engine with an empty tank 350 pounds useing two bathroom scales one under each wheel. Im also thinking about removing one of the two discs and caliphers off the Kaw 636 front end. Do i realy need all that brakeing power?.

Not bad Henry.

I got 376lb with an almost full tank, so we are close, but you have the H2 lump. And sure, 2 modern discs are way more than necessary.

I read once that you could get an accurate weight using one bathroom scale by putting the front wheel on first, taking the weight, then putting the rear wheel on and adding the 2 together. Can anybody confirm that this will work?
