 First, I'm not one to spend 500.00 to save 2 lbs. 2nd, I have found no flex problems with the H2 swingers I use, and 3rd, they are all way too long........... :wtf:

Anyone have the weight of the FZR400 aluminum swingarm? Yes it was a little longer than a stock H arm, but I don't remember it feeling that light when it was in you hand. I would like to see the actual weight of gassers arm for the h2.

It was mentioned earlier that an FZR 400 arm is longer than an H2 arm.
My 72 H2 arm measures approx 19" from Cl of pivot to mid point of axle area
My FZR arm measures 19 5/8"

Either my 72 came with the wrong arm or my eBay FZR arm is something other than advertised
Does anyone have known good measurements for each?

http://3cyl.com/mraxl/partid/swingarms/swingarms.htm that is the swingarm id page. It looks like you have a factory correct swingarm. I have since sold the fzr swinger that I had, but I digged up some old posts I had made on the old board about it. My memory was wrong . The FZR is around 1" longer than a late h1 swinger. I had 19 3/4" from pivot bolt to center of adjuster slot for the h1 and 20 3/4 for the FZR. I think I was thinking it was 2" longer because I know measured wheelbase is off from the advertised wheelbase on the resource site. My measured wheelbase on my h1 was around 57" where the specs state around 55". With the FZR I would have had around a 58" wheelbase. The FZR arm that you measured seems short, which year do you have(I don't know if they changed or not though). Maybe post up some pics and see if someone can positive id it.

Not much progress this last week...nothing worthy of photos anyways.

Front end is finished (powdercoated and assembled), rear-sets and linkages sorted and powdercoated, and a bunch of trinkety parts (seals, gaskets, bearings, bushings, etc) showed up in the mail.
Also spent some time gathering and cleaning hardware... fun :e9
Powdercoater having some problems with "outgassing" on the aluminum hubs so they aren't quite ready....

Wheels are ordered (coming from Central Wheel in England), and on their way to Brian H for building....2-3 week wait time unfortunately.
Dave has the crank out in Calli.
Cases and Cylinders are waiting to be glass beaded and bored
Frame still isn't quite finished as Im waiting for final seat arrangement to see how the rear fender/tail light/oiltank is going to play out and if anything needs to be added (tabs) or subtracted.

hope to have some interesting pics by next weekend.

Here's an oil Tank I made for Mr. Jenny Craig. I made him one out of .090 ms... obviously it was TOO heavy! So I used .035 20 gauge ms on this one. I'm REALLY hoping its light enough... :banghead
