It's not an H2, but a 74 H1. So it got a later ignition the one with the two pick-ups.
So it's running with a small pulse, I think :?:

Of course - and thanks Tim, I might pick one up for my next tear down. I've torn it down last two years in a row, might as well make it three.

Rode the H1 today and it ran great for the first 10 minutes. Started getting a miss and pulled of the stator cover.
The brushes are sparking big time, need to take the stator apart and check what's going on. What are you guys using
for new brushes? With the lights off in the garage it's quite a light show, sparks shoot out about a foot. :o

That is a sign that the B box is defective or not connected.

God I hope not, I have one of Jim's fancy all in one CDI boxes. I just finished taking the top of the
stator off and the slip rings where covered in grease. Also one of the outer brushes is worn to the replace
mark and it was stuck. I cleaned everything and put it back together and no more arching sparks so I hope
that was it. Last time I searched for a late H1 brush a NOS one cost me $80. There must be another brush
out there that could be modified to work? The slip rings measured infinite so should be fine. Measuring the
brown/ orange wires I get 117.6 still, right in spec.

if one of the white wires was disconnected on a late h1 setup, thast means it was arcing out of the loose wire hence not revving. i dont think its a bad box indication at all.
