It is transmission oil and is coming from under the front sprocket cover. It for sure isn't coming from the vent hole or shifter shaft.
It almost doesn't seem to be coming from the sprocket shaft either. It seems like it is coming from the back motor mount.

Is there any reason that it would be coming from the motor mount. Or does it have to be running the from the sprocket shaft?
But the weird thing is that it doesnt seem to get lower on the dip stick.

Anyone seen this before?

I believe this is a sign the powerband is worn.

Ii have the good orange power bands so that can't be it.

Since I have custom motor mounts, i am kind of worried my case may have cracked or something crazy. But I really can't see were it is coming from, it is kind of interrmittant. And is never actually leaking when I take the cover off and look for where it is coming from. :banghead

Looks like you are overloading the seals. The front of the motor is jacked up, and the bike leans way over.

sure its the seals? H1 motors have a breather on the back of the case(its a small hole like 3mm). if they sit in the direct sun the oil will get hot and it will expand and weep out. it can drip down the motor and look a whole lot like like a seal leak when on the sidestand. just saying, its a possibility. have had 2 do this. find the hole and check it next time it happens.

Well I figured out that my kick stand let's the bike lean to much, combined with the engine sitting different than stock. And if I put a block under the stand its doesn't leak. The weird thing is first it leaks from the vent hole, then when past that point it leaks from somewhere else that I can't find..

I had a hard time figuring a spot for the kick stand because of the left pipe. Hopefully I can find a longer stand arm instead of cutting it off and rewelding. The kickstand on it is from a ninja 250. Ill have to see if the bigger ninjas have longer stands.

I have had this problem the whole time, but was to buisy working out the other bugs (rear brake, carb jetting). Now she runs awesome and I am down to this issue.
