Thanks to all for the input.
Carlos, as I recall we didn't have a part number on the Yamaha valves.
I'm thinking it might be one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT

Am wondering if these are in fact ancient old stock that contain O-rings that are deteriorating, are they that much better than the working units that many of us have now? Then again, maybe old O-rings in check valve have an indefinate life span for our low pressure application. I have no formal training or past experiences to draw on regarding this topic.

Really nice design & machine work Carlos; wouldn't expect anything less from you. Needless to say the market won't support the price a part like this would command.

The new questions:
* Are old-stock Yama check valves a good, safe alternative, or, do we need to find a newly made units with fresh seals?

Jim C,

I still have the box you sent me : P/N is 8CH-1316A-00
Looked in the net and found it is used on 2006 snowmobile, coincidentally a 2 stroke triple. Being 2006 it's not old and I have seen 30 year old OEM motorcycle Japanese O rings that were still like new. I would use these valves with no worries about its quality. Of course it is one thing you must test in your engine because the opening pressure is smaller than the OEM, but all old H1 and H2 valves I tested were leaking and opening at very low pressures, so I'd use the new of the snowmobile.

found this link, there's also the clips and tubes you may try to see if are good.

Thanks Carlos
It looks like this part would be a good replacement for the original based on your testing.
Really appreciate all the input guys.
