Not sure what an H2 oil pump cover is made of, mostly aluminium I think, but I thought I would cut one (I have a few) to obviate tacho cable removal every time paranoia takes over checking the oil pump adjustment and operation. What is a simple, safe way to cut out a section, a small fret-saw, air tool and disc: I know you have to be careful with heat and aluminium...any advice?

There's no trick to cutting that cast aluminum. A hacksaw or bandsaw would work fine. Heat isn't a problem until you get it several hundred degrees hotter than room temperature. I just take out the screws and shove the cover up the tach cable a few inches, letting the cover hang there by a cylinder fin. |

It is JUST finished Jim and I have it entered in the VJMC National Rally in the Beautiful Barossa Valley next weekend 15/17th March. I am doing a double check over of everything before I crank it up, it has a Nev. Lush retard Ign. system and modified squish band heads, etc. so I'm checking comp.pressures, oil delivery etc. We have here a reduced cost "Club Registration" system here, so checking it's right for inspection. I'll get a pic. up somehow, (too big, max 256kb...stone age!  ) but I'm keeping busy.

I put a pic. on KTG (worldwide), I'll move it across. Maybe J.A. or someone can get it here B4 me! We shifted to the Country, so we have lots of great roads to ourself. When I set up my new garage, I found 7 10mm sockets to add to the 4 I already have...!!

Wow... I just lose 10mm sockets, I don't find them. It's nice living in the country for a lot of reasons.
