My experience. The kit is ok, except I had a bad lean spot 1/8-1/4 throttle If I set the pilot as per kawa manual, for me is 27.5 pilots. Really bad lean spot as said. My H1D has 2.0 cutaways already for some reason. If I turn the air screws in one turn it cleaned it up somewhat but that is a bandage. So I decided to remove 0.01mm from the straight part of the needles. This straight area is in the tube until just under 1/4 throttle. Doesn’t sound like much but it’s about 10% more clearance. That fixed the lean problem. Satisfied now. Goes bloody good. Only reason I am posting this is for others that are searching and I’ve read that others run very big pilots with the kit. IMHO And every engine or carbs are different. Engine is totally stock with K&Ns, 10m above sea level |

4 tenths? My guess would be some 1000 sandpaper and a decent mic. I'll be interested to hear how Coops did it. |

Quite simple really, I just marked where the straight part finishes and put some electrical heat shrink about half a mm away from that to protect the taper. Put the needle clip end in my battery drill on high and used 600 grit then 1500 grit. Removed heat shrink, quick 1500 grit then metal polish. Took about 3 minutes per needle of drill time. They are stainless steel and look the same as before I started. |

Yes, one of the things I eventually learned was do about half of what you think it needs. If it's not enough you can always do more, but if you go too far, you're wrecked it. That applies to just about everything... trimming bushes, cutting hair, taking in loose clothing, richening up the midrange... |
