I recently found an early H1 Muffler that doesn't appear to have ever been run. There is no evidence of internal oil deposits. The baffle is rusted solid. I'm thinking of submerging the muffler in Kroil or some other type of penetrant for a month or two and then use the slide hammer technique that's posted on the resource site. If you haven't already done so, go to the resource site. |

Hi goodwrench, yes I saw the pictures on using a slide hammer. I'm happy to say I got two of the three baffles out but one is stuck worse and hasen't come out. two thirds of the baffle holes were pluged with carbon. This I an sure would deter from the performance of the bike. I'll continue to play with the third problem child. Thanks, Doug |
