There's some indication that the guy who was supposed to help me with the H1D instead took it, dismantled it and now is trying to sell it in parts.

Maybe it's time to sell all my triples and forget about it. It's just not worth it.

????? THAT'S AWFUL!

I sure hope you get the authorities involved.

Finally got some photos this morning of the bike and it looks OK but the guy is not pleasant in the least.

Sadly the knowledge about these bikes in Sweden when problems with cranks etc. occurs is pretty much not existing.

So I'm probably forced to sell this bike.

Hey Pecka,

Don't give up, it has to be something simple, as these engines aren't that complicated.

Not that I am an expert by any means, but after reading this entire thread it would be a shame to throw in the towel at this point.

Plus, I want to know what the problem was in the first place.

It's like reading a book only to find out the last few pages are missing to the ending.

Hope you find the answer and go get your bike back from that guy ASAP.

Good Luck.

Ed

Hi Hollster!
I visited the guy today to inspect the motorcycle and everything looked OK.

He also said he have tested the engine with vacuum and pressure and nothing is wrong with it, and it instead could be a faulty low speed coil?

It would be a shame to give up now as you said

Noticed today something inside the B ignition box on my H1A is loose inside, is it supposed to be like that?

Hei Pecka.

Prøv Kawasaki Triples Club of Norway sin facebookside. Der kan det hende du får deg noen kontakter ;-)

Hilsen Jørgen

I do believe there's people that could help but the problem is I don't know them. Without the right connections one is left out in the cold. The Swedish triples club is dying a slow death. Ebos is far away. It's not easy.

But it can't be the low speed coil if the other two cylinder works as they should, right?

It would be very rare on that one! If you don't have new iggy boxes (I haven't read the whole thread recently) get some from Jim. These electronics are 40 years old, and way past replacement.

One cylinder not firing can be carb or ignition.
If you are sure it is no spark on an H1D it can only be a few things that could cause it...
- bad pickup
- bad ignition box
- bad ignition coil
- bad sparkplug
- wiring

The pickup resistance can be measured.
The ignition coil resistance can be measured or swapped.
The sparkplug can be swapped.
The ignition box can be swapped.

The lo or hi speed coils would affect all cylinders.

I have to think a bit just to remind myself too what have been checked:

* Switched complete carbs
* Carbs cleaned and synchronized
* New spark plugs
* Lakeland all-in one box
* Pickup coil air gap adjusted
* Compression above rings tested supposedly OK
* Measured ignition components with mixed results (oxidized connectors?)
* Think I have heard a squeaky rubbery sound when turning the crank

Cylinder runs when start gas is sprayed into carburetor or throttle wire pulled.
