Why not just flush it out and fill it full of grease?
Personally, I would replace them with either a 20 dollar set from ebay
Or you can get needle roller sleeves they sell. Not sure who has them???

I'd like to just clean the bushings out, there tight enough (as in stuck solid) however they are stuck so maybe rust is holding them in, also they won't pass grease , the fitting is clean and will pass grease but where the fitting threads into the swingarm it's a dead end, just a solid steel dead end , maybe the backside of a bushing :think:

Ultimately I need a better set up in my press to hold the swingarm while I push out the old bushing , when I do get them out if they're not damage I will reinstall them, if they're damaged I will get some bronze bushings .

As Jim commented, you can just use a hacksaw and make a single fine cut per each bushing, which will allow some give when removing, and you then may be able to pry away at them at this point. But if not, you may still need to hammer them out from the opposite end using a long tube/drift of sorts if stubborn.

Mine were stuck. No hammering was going to move them, they were crumbling and cracking, but it was like they were epoxied in. As Darrin said, after slitting with the saw blade I was able to pry them loose and knock them out.

Mine were also stuck so bad that the opposite punch was not working. Slit with hacksaw as Jim stated and folded them in on themselves with a punch then yanked them out. The bronze bushings took a lot of work to true up too after installation. A good reamer would have been nice.

Mine needed quite a bit of work with my brake hone as well. Some guys say theirs just go in and fit fine. I had the other kind. :lol:

My swing arm had no perceivable side to side play. Nice and greasy.
But, when reassembling found it would bind solid when tightened.
Long story short, somewhere along the line a savage DPO hammered on the center sleeve enough to shorten it up about .050"
I could only get a Z1 spacer, I had to calculate the proper clearance and turn the length down in the lathe.

Also, my '74 H2B had what appeared to be sintered STEEL bushings in place. OEM? Aftermarket from way back?
