Hi Guys

My 74 has a brake rod that is seriously bent, non repairable.
I have posted in the parts wanted section.

Does anyone know if the Z1 brake rod will work on a 74 H1? I can find the Z1 rods but does anyone know the overall length of a Z1 rod.

Gary

A '72 H2 brake rod measures 20" overall, if that is any help, (don't know on Z1).

beware there are two kinds of brake rod on 72 H2 and the first typ can't work as it needs a longerr cam on the rear drum brake to work

I don't think the rod length changed, they just put a bend in it, because it sat higher - the brake cam ARM was longer, of course!

Be aware, he is looking for H1 not H2. I have a 74 H1 and will measure when I get home if no answer before then...
I may even have a spare I can send you. ;)

Yes, just thinking the H2 rod might be adaptable, (similar w/base), not much of a late H1 guy!

My undamaged H1-E rear brake rod measures 21 1/8" from center of pin to end. I realize the question is "how long is the Z1 rod" but I said I would measure it... 8-) I didn't find a spare but that doesn't mean I don't have one. ;)
