Tomorrow night's low in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley is forecast to be 2 degrees Farenheit. My chambers have some dents. My last such attempt was 1994, I was very successful removing a dent from a gas tank by filling it with water and placing it in the freezer. I stationed myself in close proximity to said freezer with an assortment of adult beverages and a keen ear. After a couple hours and at least that many sips of fine cognac, I heard the dent pop. Then opened the freezer and removed said gas tank immediately to prevent seams from popping and avoid any distortion. I used the now dent free gas tank for years to come and since the metal wasnt creased, no evidence of the dent remained.
I have procured 3 large rubber plugs for the headpipes and will fill the chambers with water, then suspend them from my paint stand and put them outside on the carport and see if I can duplicate my previous success. Before and after pictures to follow... I am curious to see if it will work...

One chamber had a couple pinholes considerably above the dented area. I mixed a little JB weld and dabbed it on the pinholes, will refill that chamber when I get home at 2230, but I'm thinking it won't affect the outcome either way. The center chamber is the worst off and it is watertight as is the right hand. Forecast says 9 Deg F so we will see. I moved them out of the shop to the edge of the carport...

Curious about this as I have a couple of dents - and it's 10-15 here - good time to try.

Show how you capped them, thanks!
