I think you will find he was referring to heli-coils. I have used them all. I have had heli-coils come out before so I prefer timeserts or welding/drill/tap myself.

I am not a big fan on heil-coils and would prefer to use one of the others if possible.

Time-serts are the best I've seen, but they require several special tools to use them. Heli-coils are the simplest, but as stated, not the strongest, and their installation tool doesn't always work. Take the head to an automotive machinist and ask for Time-serts. It won't be cheap, but it WILL be right.

Time-certs take more room to install from what I hear. And this is a problem in tight areas.

One other thing, IIRC heil-coils use a special tap just for them while the keen-serts can use an off the shelf standard tap. I am not sure about the time-serts.
