I am after a recommendation on carb jetting and settings for a standard h1E with pod filters.I would prefer to run a standard air box but their are no after market ones available for this model. I have recently rebuilt the motor and not happy with the performance. It has a rebuilt crank so I am assuming good crankcase pressures. It was previously running h2 jets and chambers when I first bought the bike many years ago. Are standard jets the way to go. What needle position is a good starting point.

I assume "standard" means stock exhaust and engine.
That being the case use this as a guide: http://kawtriple.com/mraxl/carbspec.html
There are several variables such as type of pod filters and altitude. Another read for you is http://www.3cyl.com/mraxl/manuals/carbtune/carbtune.htm

I thought I posted this on the jetting thread, but apparently it was on another thread.

H1F All stock except for pod filters. Stock pipes with baffles.
97.5 mains
Clip in middle position
Stock pilot jet size (30)
Air screws out ~1-1/4 turns
Float height 30mm
Running 10% ethanol gas.
I have no complaints with how it runs. I've run the crap out of it for 4 years and it ran well at the gap the last 2 years. But I am no expert, so others on this site are probably better references.

Hope this helps, Good luck.
