I believe the voltage regulator on my '72 H2 has finally given up the ghost I get up to 20VDC at higher revs when measured at the battery. Does anyone have recommendations on a replacement? Will any 2 wire regulator do? I think I have a 3 wire laying around, could that work?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Battery capacity good?

If no good, voltage will go way higher when the battery will not take a charge.

There are several regulators available, including from Oregon Motorcycle Parts and Rick's Motorcycle Electrics.

I charged the battery before the season and it took a charge fine. Voltage reads fine with a multimeter too so I don't think it's the battery but thank you for the suggestion

I don't see an H2 regulator on Rick's site. Rexs Speedshop has one: https://www.rexs-speedshop.com/product/ ... rectifier/

I have at least one original voltage regulator lying around. Both of my regulators were working and I changed them out for Jim's Super Regulator (no longer available). If you want an original for $20 mailed in the US let me know. No warranty, all I can say is it was working when I last used it.

I know they had one. If you want a Rick's regulator it's probably best to call and ask.

Here's another option. I know nothing about this or the seller, but it appears to have a 1-year warranty. https://www.regulatorrectifier.com/prod ... -rectifier
