Looks like it is a much better design done in revising an "Emulator". Plus, it comes with its own adjustment tools, and, can be adjusted.

The main thing is there is compression damping. I thought the emulators did it, but they don't. So really what use are they?

My understanding of emulators is that they do both compression and rebound damping. Their claim to fame is the valve that limits pressure on the compression stroke so that fast movements can take place without excessive forces being transmitted to the bike and rider. Slower compression movements are damped normally, so that they don't allow oscillations like "hobby horsing".

Jim, Emulators do both, as stated, but, not very well, adjustment is a pain, and their actions are not as good as they should have evolved into, it seems.

This one John found looks very nice, indeed.

This was just discussed, and i was told the emulators only did rebound.

The old "just discussed" argument. :P

Here's some information from the Racetech site: http://www.racetech.com/HTML_FILES/VINTAGETHEORY.HTML
