Good afternoon.
I'm trying to track down a no spark condition. I have a zeel and a Lakeserv all in one unit. Everything ran great until I swapped motors, so I have a solid feeling the problem is not in the zeel or Jim's box.

I believe the resistance across the pickup should be 200ohms +/- 20%?
All three of mine show 134-136ohms across the pickup. I checked 2 spares and they read 166 and 168ohms.

Could this be my problem with no spark? I checked all the generator resistances at the wire ends per the manual and all was good. The 3 white wires showed 189-195ohms.

TIA for help.
Electrical troubleshooting is not my strong suit.

Three pick ups going down at the same time, no I don't think so, even with the resistance readings you have, normally the sign of a fail is open circuit
Check the generator windings, you'll find the info you need on the resources site.
I think you have a wiring issue

Ok Tankie,
Here ya go. :banghead

I pulled my other motor back in Nov.. I noticed that the black and white wire off of my zeel was not hooked up. I looked at my hand drawn wiring diagram and it showed going from Jim's 3 in 1 to the ignition (3 way hook up). My thought was it had pulled loose during the removal or installation of the motors so I hooked it up like my diagram. Bad Bad. I was looking at a real schematic last night and noticed that it was the map 2. Disconnected the zeel white/black wire from the curcuit and fired it up. Ever just feel like a complete DA?

Just got back from a short ride. What a rush!

Cool - Glad you figured it out! But, as Tankie said the chances of all three triggers failing at the same time is remote, but I am puzzled why you had such a low reading off all three but the correct readings off the others if using the same meter . . .

RB,
Yes same meter.
Any ideas? I thought it was strange as well. 2 spares within 2 @ 166/168 and the three on the bike within 2 at 134/136.

I may try isolating the pickup on the bike and meter it again. (Pull the white wire under the seat and remove the ground)
