After seeing the amazing rebuilds from other posters I feel very inadequate... but here goes.
In 1970 I bought a 175 Kawasaki that kept seizing just because I rode it near redline most of the time.
When I was 16, I decided the road was more fun than dirt so I traded my 175 in for a H1A.
I had some mild porting done, milled heads, .20over pistons done but that was it. As a teenager, I did a lot of drag racing on various tracks in New England.
In 1978, shortly after this picture the oil pump pinion fitting bolt broke and created a quarter size hole in my side case. That's the last time I have ridden this bike.
Of course life got in the way and it sat waiting....In 1996 my brother got tired of me delaying the rebuild so I crated it up and shipped it to him in California.
6 months of research he purchased a NOS side case and assorted goodies and....he got married. So it has sat in his garage and....nothing.
I just retired from owning a jewelry store for 33 years so I decided its time to get off my ass.
So over the past 3 months of reading forums and amassing parts I've started the project. It is going to be agonizingly slow because I live in Mich and the bike is in CA.
My bro is shipping me parts to work on and he is going to work on the big pieces such as getting the frame powder coated etc..
Its not much but at least the carbs are done. I'll post more down the road if anyone is interested.
