My A1 Samurai project is completed. The bike is running, starts first kick. (pretty much) I’ve driven it down the driveway into my neighbour’s driveway and back but I’m not interested in getting a safety check and insurance for it. It was never my intention to keep this one, but to pass it along to someone who can appreciate it for what it is. An old Kawasaki, the older little sister to the mighty H1. It’s certainly not concours but it is the best parts I could find to bring this dumpster bike back to life. It will be a good addition to someone that collects old Kawasaki 2 strokes. My goal at the start (of any of my projects) is to not lose money on it. This one was tricky and shipping costs for parts (F-U eBay) ate about 33% of the costs. But that’s all part of the game. So the tough part is what to put a value on such a bike? JD Power puts the value at $3K US for Very Good shape and $6400 US for Excellent shape. I would say the condition is somewhere in between that. I’ve seen them sell for much more on some websites but this is Canada, the market is smaller. What do any of you think I should (or could) ask for it?
