So, I have a dilemma with my H2B. I'm finally assembling my H2B after a couple of years of buying parts, rebuilding what I can and sending out things to be rebuilt. But when I was fitting a new front sprocket it has some play that just doesn't seem right. The sprocket is a JT sprocket, part number JT508-16. I bought this online and have seen this sprocket offered on other sites, listing it as fitting my bike. I went with the 16 tooth to try to get a little better fuel mileage, not so worried about the launch. I have another H2 motor and tried the sprocket on this output shaft too. Same problem. The old sprocket from the second motor fits a little loose too. Both new and old sprockets on both motors have some radial play. Is this normal? Does torqueing down the sprocket overcome the play? I tried to post a video but it was too large. Thanks, Dave PS, what is the torque spec for the sprocket retaining nut? |

I have a 16 J-T sprocket on my H2 and I don't remember it feeling overly loose. But yes, when the big nut is torqued to the spec, I don't think the fit of the spline is very imporant. |

I torque my front sprocket nut to 70-80 ft lbs. |

Torques to 70, we'll keep an eye on it when it's back on the road. Thanks, Dave. |
