This is a new discovery on my H1D project bike. The oil lines to the center and right cylinders are 50% larger in diameter then the line that feeds the left cylinder. I'm pretty sure the small diameter line is stock. Thinking this is not good for balanced oil system. Has anyone ever seen this before?

It makes no difference since the pump is a positive displacement type that pumps a squirt into each of the three lines in rotation. Each line therefore gets a correct sized squirt in each pump cycle, and the line size is irrelevant.

Thanks Jim,
Are the large lines stock from a different model or do you think someone made them? They look like they could be stock.

Sorry, I have no idea. I've seen mixed line sizes before, but I don't know any details. I never paid much attention, since it's a non-problem. :)

Here is a pic of the check valve end of the small line

Those are the correct, factory lines.

The longer lines have the smaller bore, I guess the oil "thinks" it's doing the same job thru. each line...... (Can you see what I'm trying to say!?) :?

I think the designer(s) may have figured that a smaller line doesn't take as long to fill when starting empty, so they used that on the long ones. They're all the same on my early '72 though.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm glad to hear the lines are factory correct. It does make sense that oil will travel faster through the smaller line to the furthest cylinder.

I have a smaller diam. line over to the left cylinder Jim, so you have got me worried now.....! (it's full of oil tho.)
