I didn't realize that, Rod. :)

Life is too short,(at my age) to spend much time polishing 40 year old alloy, and chrome-plating has priced itself out of the market, I reckon. Black done properly is fine. I did polish up a set of fork lowers that were really bad and I was surprised at how quickly and how well they came up. And I'm not paying $300 for a "nice" clutch cover!

I decided that around 1979 or so when I did my "black and blue" H2. You know the one... it's still that way.

Yeah, much the same here, Jim, they seem to turn black with age, a few scrapes and get-offs, less time to polish and clean, maybe, and chrome chambers don't last forever, if you clean them internally.
