I ordered a small bottle of Loctite 620 on Ebay for $13, when I received the order it was the wrong Loctite, I contacted the seller and they said they were out of the small bottles. They said they would make it right, look what showed up today, 250ml, hope it has a long shelf life.  Attachment: loctite.JPG

It'll outlast us if you don't do something like store it in the hot sun.  I have bottles from the 1970s and they're still fine.

Well, the sweating is over, got the new crank installed, it went together quite well, torqued to spec, everything is spinning freely, even have the kick starter spring set, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Everything is cleaning up well, rebuilt my petcock, everything was hard as a rock, carbs are back together with new Mikuni float valves and bowl gaskets. I'm bumming out now, center cyl. piston went on no problem, now my RH cyl. wrist pin won't go through the needle bearing, tried the other wrist pin and bearing with the same result. It almost feels like I have a burr on the inside of the oil port on the upper rod, can I try to run some fine sand paper through it to see if I can deburr it? it's a new rebuilt crank, any feedback is appreciated. I would talk to the rebuilder about it and see what method he suggests. If I couldn't reach him, I'd probably stuff a rag in the crankcase opening and use a swivel deburring tool through the hole from the ouside, then a small smount of 600 sandpaper at that spot. |
