Has anyone replaced the oil tank hose?

I know there is a spring collar around the hose at the oil pump banjo.

I saw the banjo on eBay and see what it looks like, but can't find any info on how to remove it to replace the hose.

I was hoping to reused the spring collar and the banjo.

Thanks for any info you can send my way,

Ed

Not really the answer I was looking for.........................

Looking for some one who has removed the banjo fitting from the oil tank line without damaging the spring clamp so you can reused it.

I have no idea how it comes apart because I've never done one before.

Carefully pull the end of the spring, it should slide back on the hose, then just split the hose.

Okay sounds good John, that's what I will do.

The weather in NM should be really nice for getting out and riding.

Getting chilly in the high desert now, was going to drag out the triple, but the boy flew out at 6am. By the time I got home I was running on empty most of the day.

You turn the spring counter clockwise so it kind of loosens and unwinds itself from the banjo and down till it's loose. You can still get the pipe from Partzilla, it's called an oil pipe.

Unless you re doing a resto or care about asthetics, I run a clear oil line from the tank to the pump. Just buy the right i.d. fuel line and R&R your black hose. No guessing if oil is flowing to the pump. While you are there it's sound advice to examine and clean if necessary the oil outlet fitting/filter on your oil tank. Over the years the filter can become compromised with the waxes in the oil and limit oil flow out of the tank.

Agree Mike - same here. clear hose and check filter once-ina-while.
