This bike was not in the best of shape when I got it from Leroy. I had to resort to some cave-man tactics to get the cylinders off but all is good now. This is the first time I got the chrome back before I needed it and it only took three weeks to get it back! , wouldn't you know, I didn't open the box of chrome when it was delivered, I waited two weeks and when I did open it the other day I found that two of the exhaust pipes were damaged during shipping(lesson learned about unpacking stuff in front of the driver)and I had to send them back. So far the bike is coming along nicely and if all goes well I should have all the parts and have it done in another two weeks. They always look nicer than they are when you start. Getting the cylinders off. I tried less invasive means but was thwarted. The crank was rusted in and had to be junked. It took a whole day to get the cased apart. |

Wow what a job. Looks like that engine has been sitting for quite some time! Love the looks of the H1D, and nice looking Zed in the background btw. Good luck ! |

I still have the fuel line clamps and the rear footrest pins to put on but I lost them in the garage. The cables have all since been routed correctly. I'm pretty sure the master cylinder cap is from a '72 unless the early '73s had this cap. I am getting the other style ready. I am also still going to change out the seat cover, then it should be pretty good. |

Super nice job! You are correct... the MCyl cap used is from earlier models. If you aren't aware... the dash light panel is a Japan only for later models. The H1D is unique to H1 & S for '73. Here is H1D panel: |
