yellow marks on screws: 1974 model year
My H2B had them when I got it at the end of the 20th century
but neither my H2A or my S2A had them or my first H2A on the 70s

Ralph, the yellow paint was used on the brake and steering components to show if they had been loosened or removed after the bike left the factory(I would guess for liability purpose). The H2 and the H2A had almost all number 4 marked bolts with some 7's. The only way I get them back in the right spot is to take lots of pics when I take the bike apart and bag and tag everything, as I'm sure you do. I do not know of a complete list as to where they go but in most cases you can look up the part number and then look that up in Mraxl's oem parts list. Most of the time they have a picture of the screw(bolt). If there is a specific bolt or two you can't place maybe I can help.

The little 10mm ones with the raised "7" are hard to find...and expensive. But since they hold the brake cylinder on...you can't hope to get away without using them..

What is the significance of the number 7?

For Honda's it was the number 8.

For The Beatles it was Number Nine!

Relates to the tensile hardness or shear strength, I think..... (hey, that's close, and no-one else answered!!) :D

The markings are likely based on a now obsolete Japanese (JIS) designation system. Grades such as 4T, 7T, and 9T indicate the nominal tensile strength in kgf/mm2 x 100, which means that in MPa the values are 392, 686, and 883 respectively.

Hi,

my problem is that I'm not sure where these screws were mounted from Kawasaki. Because for me it's not clear how to identify them in the parts book.
I can check the numbers I got now, but are these all?
I remember that RB restored H2C with the yellow marking on some places longer time ago.
Perhaps RB has some documents which can help. I try to get in touch with him,

All the best from Germany
Ralf
