Big thanks to Jim Hobbs for his work in creating the upgraded low speed coils for H2's I bought mine a fair while ago along with a 4 in one box for my project bike but needed to use the low speed coil today and found his instruction sheets very comprehensive and did it myself which I am quite proud of bike starts first kick now and sounds crisp, only thing I am unsure about is the polarity,as I bought a cheap compass made in china and think I got it right but would like to know the true ramifications of the wrong polarity, would the bike start if you got that wrong,Cheers Hooter,

The leads of the coil are in the same location as the original. As long as you got the one on the left going to the same wire of the harness that the original one on the left went to, you should be OK. If you got it reversed, you'll have worse symptoms than a high speed miss.

What are the symptoms of faulty low speed coils

If the LS coil is completely shot, you won't be able to kick start the engine, and if you push-start it, you'll have to keep it revved above idle to keep it running. A partially shot LS coil will be somewhere between that and normal, but hard starting due to weak spark is what you'd see.
