Theyare so inepensive on the used market I would suggest buying another for a rebuild (assuming the cylinder is OK. Replacement pistons are now available. |

That is probably your best bet Chuck. Buy a used one in better shape at evilbay. Going to Ricks this August? |

Yes, I have. I do it the way a company maned 'Vette Brakes" does it, with a heat set, pressed in stainless steel insert. A good machinist should have no problem doing the install and parts manufacture, the key is to get the heated press clearance/function correct, so the sleeve stays in place without issues. Of course, one very important thing, though, if you, or, your machinist do not have adequate machining experience/ability, accurate machines to do this work right, PLEASE do what the others have recommended, find a better caliper to use that doesn't need re-sleeving. |
