Always an important thing. Powder coating is a lot tougher than paint to remove.
As a retired electrician, poor connections have always been fun troubleshooting.

Powder coating is very easy to remove, aircraft stripper works fine. If you want to remove a small area just mask it off.

I had painted my calipers with VHT Caliper Paint and it seems to work well.
I went over the timing and made sure everything was set correctly.

I noticed the clutch pull is quite firm. The previous owner confirmed he put in heavier clutch springs. I might have to look into changing them out.
I've been checking the electrical with my continuity tester. Found a problem in the light switch.
There was a bit of oxidation in the horn button. Polished it up and getting good ground contact again. There was also a problem with the turn signals. Seems to have been a failure of a solder connection for the orange wire. I broke out the soldering iron and made a nice new connection.

Getting very close now. Hoping to get some free time to put into finishing it up.

He won't get much road grime on the engine since there's no gas tank either. :)

And no night riding without a headlight! I do have the rear fender and chain guard on. It's a shame no one will be able to see the stubby rear fender, paint came out great.
The pretty stuff goes on after I get my decals and clear coat done. Murphy's law states there will be damage if I put them on while in my friends repair shop.
:o

It looks like a lot of aluminum has been bead blasted. How did you finish it after blasting it?

I didn't bead blast, it was sanded down, but did not want to take it to mirror polishing Then I used SprayMax 3680061, 2K Urethane Clear Coat.
I Finished checking the electrical today. It's nice that checking for spark does not need a battery.
All the electrical works, except the neutral light, high beam indicator, and front brake light switch. I'll have to pick up a 1.5w and 3w light bulbs, get a new brake switch, and buy a battery.
My list is getting a bit short, and I may have to start the bike soon. I may put the rest of the body work on tomorrow if time permits.
