Yes that was the first thing I did John. I had them weld the outside with the case bolted together and not
unbolt it till it cooled. When I weld castings on Ferrari's I leave them jigged until it cools off. I use a wire
feed aluminum mig welder (Cebora) at work but I wanted the cases tig welded. The Tig welder I want
is $9000 so I will never be able to afford that. Last time I had welding training in Italy they demo-ed
there new tig. You can teach anyone to tig with it in a few hours, it was that easy to use. I quit Ferrari
18 months ago but going to start again in Jan. as a part time instructor.

This was a 458 Challenge I rebuilt just before I left.

We never know the "extent" of everyones capabilities. It never hurts to "ask". Cast aluminum warps very easily with welding. And it would suck to not have cases seal or a crank that won't turn when you are trying to assemble it.

Ron had it under control........

I dropped off the 73 Hybrid on Friday so got back on the other 73. Just waiting for a few more parts and the correct
tail light bracket. I have 2 more 72 H2's to clean up and then 6 early H1's. If your going to have a part time hobby,
it mines as well be working of old Kawasaki's.
