Here are some pics of what I got. Its a third over size and I cant find any
4th over. What piston can I put in this thing ???? Its a 37 mm piston.

Dave, you should remeasure the wristpin, you have it too deep in the calipers. You can see the steps in this pic...



The pin should not be set back all the way, be sure the flats of the calipers are on the diameter and it's not settled into the relief.

Not to be a double dick, but the tips (thinner) are the first part to wear and should only be used when that's all that will reach. The entire ground area is (should be) parallel and should give the same reading. Always wipe the surfaces clean, close the caliper and look through for light. If there is wear you will see a gap, usually at the tips. This means it's time to buy new calipers , or just know not to trust the measurement at the worn area. Check/set zero, then measure. Also look at the inside measurement points, if the caliper has been dropped they can get bent (usually cross over each other when closed), resulting in inaccurate readings. Remember, calipers can't be trusted to better than a thou anyway, for bore measurements and such use the proper tool, bore gauge, etc...

c'mon bill! they don't wear, its the internal parts that wear and the head deflects! worn precision measuring tools should never be used...

me personally, i like to use string and a tape measure. 'cause it lasts longer. and my calibrated eyebones.

Yes, if the carriage rocks (either a joke or a Van Halen song here ) it can be adjusted with the screws on top of the carriage. If there are tight/loose spots then it is shot! I'm just trying to halp Dave give good numbers here, I would never challenge your calibrated eyebones!

bottom line is the pistons are shot. maybe new top end time.

looking a bit further.. Id bet pw50 pistons will work, and they are a bigger bore. stock size on those is 40mm.

punch er out, go big-bore!!!
