I picked this up about a year ago from a local gray market bike importer. Sadly it sat in a corner of his garage for some time. He had plans for it that never came to fruition. It's a 1993 TZR250 RS 3XV9. Jap spec bike that was never sold here in the US. I couldn't afford any of his nice shiny NSR250's or the other TZR250's he had that were turn key

After many hours of reading, posting and making friends (and connections) with some great guys on the TZR250.com forum...and lots of shopping on yahoojapan, I think I've got it pretty well sorted. What a hoot this thing is to ride!
I scored some SP Tadeo "Jackal" pipes for it and a SUGO race CDI. Once I get it ported to SP specs this should be putting out close to 60hp! It's a bit of a Frankenstien bike as it's an RS frame but has R motor with a wet clutch. A true RS should have a dry clutch. Plus it's got some mismatched bodywork. The plan is to eventually paint it in the 50th Anniversary Yamaha Petronis Race colors! For now...I'm having a blast ripping around on it. Hope to bring it to the 2-stroke gap meet this year.

Blew the doors off the 400's in a straight line. With the suspension and brakes, that thing has got to be a blast to ride......see ya next weekend........
