My Toomeys work wonderfully but they need some dent repair and welding work for a crack that has progressed half way around the RH pipe. I saw these on Ebay and was lucky no one else was interested. I got a very good deal on them. The RH FPP has a couple of dents and some damage to the can but my Toomey silencers should bolt right on. The collars are included as well. I learned recently that initially Toomey pipes were made in the same dies as FPPand have been told the performance should be very similar. We will see they are supposed to be here tomorrow.

I dont know... I have a set of FPPS that I bought NOS and had on the Phoenix Project for a couple years and on the Triple they were good but lacking in bottom end, more of a high RPM pipe that took a disciplined throttle hand because they would let the motor turn past 9500 if you held it wide open... I bought these as spares because they were cheap so I can fix my Toomeys over the winter...UPS was supposed to deliver them today out of Delaware but just sent notice they wont be arriving today...

I've been a friend of Stuart Toomey since his days starting out at Flyiong Machine Factory in the early 1970's, long before Toomey Racing. And, his "shakey deals r us" not so better sibling, Ed Toomey.

The Toomey pipes should be a lot more forgiving, make more power all over the place, and not so peaky, good all through the rmp range.

I have a set of Spec II prepped VM30s on mine and a Zeeltronic ignition conversion / power valve controller with a 10 step curve that Mark Haase designed on mine. It pulls linear all the way through the range. I can roll the throttle on at 3500 in 6th and hold it till I get scared and let off or the rev limiter stops it at 10.5K. The low end is very good for a ported 350 with Toomeys (Stage 1 Spec II and head shaved .030). I bought a set of o-rings for my pipes from Toomey and they were nice on the phone and good to me. The parts came in 4 days from CA. I have been very fortunate with mine.

It really does run nice. I am lucky to have good friends who are excellent tuners. The ignition and power valve controllers make all the difference in the world and Gary at Spec II does such a good job.

The Toomeys cans are not a bolt on ( of course) so on repairing the damaged can and cracked chamber flange. I learned some good stuff along the way.

Apparently the bike went down on the RH side and pushed the can into the axle resulting in a jagged hole. The baffle tube luckily was untouched and the packing wasn't even damaged much to my surprise. The carbon fiber sticker on the cans came off relatively easily. I had to straighten the edge of the can so I could get the locking ring off and then a dead blow hammer persuaded the can to separate from the flange.
