Project RZ had a stuck tach from its' time in stasis. I am assuming the low speed dirkulator was the malfunction and received instruction from the good Dr. in the repair of said dirkulator. I am home from work with a pretty bad case of bronchitis and was told no work til Thursday and no exertion. Thankfully no pneumonia this time and I am on the mend. It was such a nice day here in the 70s so I checked my Baby Mommas and decided to spend a few minutes and see if I could figure out how to disassemble the instrument housing and see what I could see. I took everything apart, inverted the assembly with the bezels removed and dribbled some machine oil onto the speedo and tach openings and under the faceplates onto the shafts after returning the instruments to the upright position to prevent any oil getting on the faceplates. Then I hung the assembly back on the bike sans the covers for a dynamic operational check after working the needles by hand for approximately 50 cycles each.

Rode the RD to town and back for a haircut. 60 degrees and sunny. Ran mighty fine...

Then I removed and disassembled the RZ rear caliper. Not bad at all. New pads on order from Economy Cycle. Thanks John!!
Then it was time to head to work....

Front calipers cleaned, bead blasted and painted. Disassembly continues. RZ is now on the lift.
Next up: Wheels off and to the bike shop for installation of the Avon AM 26 Roadriders, then off come the forks for new seals, boots, Progressive Springs install and polishing of the lowers.
New rear caliper pads enroute from Economy Cycle, pistons and seals are enroute from Bike Bandit. 14 MM front master cylinder arrived yesterday.

Wow, RZs have big calipers. The 5-gallon buckets seem small by comparison.

I like the fittings that allow a garden hose to attach to the caliper.

Those fittings are the tops and caps off of Lucas bottles, and are stuck in the various and sundry orifices to prevent paint from going in.
