I was busy working on the Assault Wagon and doing other farm stuff and didn't even get to touch any bike stuff this weekend. I carried the new S/S caliper pistons out to the shop and that is as far as I got. I hope to get back on it this week. Looking like I won't be going to Rock Hill for at least 2 weeks.... this sucks!!!

While the bike is on the center stand try to move the rear wheel side to side and see how much movement you get. The RD's use nonmetallic bushings in the swing arm. I replaced mine with bronze bushings. The bronze bushings will need about .005 taken off their OD's. See my last post in Barry's toolbox thread. I also have installed new rear shocks as well. This should help the girl haul my lard butt around. You may need to do the same :D

When I pulled the swing arm shaft on my Daytona the bushings were nonmetallic and fell out in pieces. When I pulled the 350's shaft I could tell the bushings still fit good and were gray so I thought they were steel. I was wrong they also are nonmetallic. I think the clearance i had was too much end play and all I probably needed to do was tighten up the swing arm nuts. I done bought bronze bushings so they are going in.

The best laid pans of mice and men. #1 son's 97 Toyota won't start, grunt, or click with a good hot battery and the jump box. I am heading out to the shop in a few minutes to put it up on the lift and try to figure it out. I am hoping it is a bad starter and not some electrical nightmare. It is 23 degrees and windy. My original intent today was installing my brake caliper pistons, then installing my new bead blast nozzle and filter and bead blasting my set of high top carbs plus what ever else I could get done. We just got word yesterday at work that everyone who has weekends off doesn't have them any more effective 21 Feb. I had weekends off for the 1st time after 4 years and got to keep them for about 3 months. My new days off will be Sun/Mon. :banghead :banghead
I had to change my leave forecast for DG and now have to take 7 of 10 days allowed per year instead of 5. Oh well , if I make it to 5 years in December they have to give me 15 days a year off.

That is the hardest thing for me to get used to here in the US .
in the UK i had 5 weeks vacation and some freinds had considerably more.
the norm in texas seems to be two weeks.
and lots of colleges dont take it.
oh well "swings and roundabouts" i guess.
